Meine Arbeiten Facts & Values / "Rossebändiger" beschäftigen sich mit den beiden "Rossebändiger"-Skulpturen von Edwin Scharff (1887 – 1955) aus den Jahren 1937-1940, die heute am Eingang des heutigen Nordparks/Aquazoos in Düsseldorf stehen. Die "Rossebändiger"-Skulpturen wurden von Edwin Scharff zur "Großen Reichsausstellung Schaffendes Volk" erstellt, der seinerzeit wichtigsten Propagandaausstellung Nazideutschlands. Sind jedoch historisch ambivalent, Fotos der zu dieser Zeit noch nicht gänzlich fertiggestellten "Rossebändiger" wurden in der Ausstellung "Entartete Kunst" in München gezeigt, die Arbeiten an den Skulpturen wurden dennoch wieder aufgenommen und bis 1940 unter dem Naziregime fertiggestellt.
Meine Arbeit besteht aus in den Jahren 2018-2025 von mir selbst erstellten Fotos der Skulpturen, sowie aus Reproduktionen von 1937 erstellten Fotos der Skulpturen aus dem Stadtarchiv Düsseldorf. Die GPS-Koordinaten und die Zeit der Aufnahme bzw. Zeit der Erstellung der Scans der historischen Fotos im Stadtarchiv sind als Text im Bild sichtbar und Teil der Arbeit, die ich bis dahin als dokumentarisch verstehe. Meine selbst erstellten Fotos habe ich in weiteren Arbeitsschritten mithilfe von generativen KI-Tools mit Found-Footage-Propagandamaterial der Neuen Rechten (AFD-nahe Social-Media-Accounts auf Instagram, TikTok, etc.) verschmolzen, so dass sich 1937er-2025er-Hybride ergeben. Die Reproduktionen der historischen Fotos habe ich in weiteren Arbeitsschritten mithilfe von generativen KI-Tools mit Logos von Tech-Monopolisten wie Open AI, X etc. vermischt. (work in progress).

My works Facts & Values / ‘Rossebändiger’ deal with the two ‘Rossebändiger’ sculptures by Edwin Scharff (1887–1955) from 1937–1940, which now stand at the entrance to what is today the Nordpark/Aqua Zoo in Düsseldorf. The ‘Rossebändiger’ sculptures were created by Edwin Scharff for the ‘Große Reichsausstellung Schaffendes Volk’, which was the most important propaganda exhibition in Nazi Germany at the time. However, they are historically ambivalent. Photos of the ‘Rossebändiger’ sculptures, which were not yet completely finished at the time, were shown in the ‘Degenerate Art’ exhibition in Munich. Nevertheless, work on the sculptures was resumed and completed under the Nazi regime by 1940.
My work consists of photographs of the sculptures taken by me between 2018 and 2025, as well as reproductions of photographs of the sculptures taken in 1937 from the Düsseldorf City Archives. The GPS coordinates and the time the photos were taken and the time the scans of the historical photos in the city archives were created, are visible as text in the image and are part of the work, which I understand to be documentary in nature. In further steps, I merged my own photos with found-footage propaganda material from the New Right (AFD-affiliated social media accounts on Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to create 1937-2025 hybrids. In further steps, I used generative AI tools to blend the reproductions of the historical photos with logos from tech monopolists such as Open AI, X, etc. (work in progress).
